Doing business online requires an ability to accept credit and/or debit cards from customers. This entails processing authorisation requests in real time and ensuring the cardholder has sufficient funds.
Realex Payments provides a state-of-the-art internet payments solution, allowing the automation of online sales and payments processing through to fulfillment.
Merchants can integrate any Realex Payments’ services directly from their own websites. Sample code comes in various languages to ensure quick implementation.
We have two integration options; redirect and remote;
Redirect Integration
* Merchant does not need a secure server.
* Can be hosted anywhere, and on any platform as long as CGI scripts are enabled.
* Merchant does not collect the card details and do not have access to them.
* The customer is redirected to the RealAuth application on a secure Realex Payments server by a script on the merchant’s website.
* Realex Payments hosts a secure, merchant-branded web page. We collect the card details and process the payment. The customer and the results of the transaction are sent back to the merchant via another script on a merchant’s website. (Realex Payments can provide sample scripts to get you started).
Remote Integration
* Merchant needs a secure server or can integrate into a desktop application.
* The card details are collected by the merchant and passed to Realex Payments as XML messages. Realex Payments respond with an XML message containing the results of the transaction in a matter of seconds. (We can provide sample scripts to get you started)
* The merchant controls the full process, screen flow. The customer may never know Realex Payments were involved in the process.
Services available for remote integration:
* Credit and Debit Card Authorisations - RealAuth
* Card Holder Authentication - RealMPI
* Direct Debits - RealEFT

New venue, new website and new categories for the most open Web Awards in Ireland
With Awards season in full effect, the 2010 Web Awards have been launched with Realex Payments once again the headline sponsor. This is the third year of these awards that base their categories on what the Web community in Ireland wants. The Awards try to be as democratic as possible with no nomination fees and low ticket prices for the ceremony in order to facilitate the broadest mix of website owners.
Damien Mulley, organiser of the Web Awards: "We created the Web Awards to allow anyone with any budget or no budget at all to submit their website to compete fairly with others. All of the websites submitted get judged, with those shortlisted going through two judging processes to decide the winners.
It's the web community in Ireland, both creators and viewers that judge these sites. Last year we had a panel of 100 judges to go through the 100s of websites submitted."
Colm Lyon, managing director of Realex Payments, headline sponsor said: "This is our second year supporting the Irish Web Awards, we thoroughly enjoyed the awards last year so we didn't hesitate in getting involved again. The Irish web community is truly innovative and inspiring, for us to be part of this event which celebrates the achievements of the Irish web community in such a positive way, is an honour for Realex Payments."
The Web Awards take place on October 16th in the Mansion House in Dublin. The website to submit nominations is www.Webawards.ie Nominations are open until Thursday September 2nd. Finalists will be announced on October 1st with the Awards ceremony on October 16th. MC for the evening is 2Fm's Rick O'Shea.
